Kevin Ryan’s career spans between directing, writing, producing and acting. Having worked out of Los Angeles for more than a decade, Kevin has collaborated on a number of award winning films such as Laredo (David Price), Paddy’s in the Boot (Kevin Shulman), and The Tub (Matia Karrell). Kevin also produced the feature film The Guru & The Gypsy (Philippe Caland). As an actor, Kevin Ryan starred on BBC America’s COPPER. Created by Oscar winning director Barry Levinson, multi- Emmy winner Tom Fontana, and Academy Award nominee Will Rokos. The series became BBC America’s highest rated series premiere of all time. He also starred in the History Channels hit mini-series SONS OF LIBERTY. Kevin has also appeared in the NBC series CROSSBONES starring John Malkovich, created by Neil Cross and directed by Ciaran Donnelly. Ryan’s most recent roles include his portrayal of ‘Patrick Ryan’ on Freeforms mystery thriller Guilt; Playing ‘The Frog Prince’ on ABC’s Once Upon a Time; Portraying the edgy, temperamental ‘Colin Kilgannon’ on NBC’s hit TV series The Blacklist and is currently filming the role of ‘Charlie Wild’ for season 2 & 3 of Acorn TV’s Harry Wild opposite Jane Seymour. Kevin’s has also recently been in writing development on multiple film & television concepts with his creative team Christina Wayne (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Copper), Tom Kelly (Copper, Blue Bloods, The Get Down, The Purge), Matthew Spradlin (Bad Kids Go To Hell) and Sunshine Nomura (Lamplighter Entertainment).

| About Whackala | Whackala was set up in Dublin in 2006 by Paul McGrath and Leticia Agudo to combine their separate talents and expertise in producing and directing fiction, documentary and animation to create innovative and striking work. Since then, they have made documentaries for Irish and Spanish broadcasters as well as shorts and a feature documentary, most of which incorporated scripted content and animation. This work garnered them awards at international festivals and competitions. Bobby Moloney joined the company in 2015 to work in development, production and editing. Since then, Whackala has increased their live-action and animation development and production. In 2021, they made the Screen Ireland/RTÉ Frameworks animation short “Lady Betty” starring Colm Meaney, screening in festivals around the world and nominated for best animation awards. Most recently, they produced the short family film “#NanaRocks” supported by Kildare County Council Arts Office, which has just begun its festival run. They also have two features in development, one of which is in receipt of Screen Ireland screenplay development funding, and an animated series being developed with RTEjr. |

| Summary | Set against the backdrop of a working farm in rural Northern Ireland, An Irish Goodbye is a black comedy following the reunion of estranged brothers Turlough and Lorcan about the untimely death of their mother. Under the watchful eye of odd-ball parish priest Father O’Shea, the brothers’ pained reunion is worsened by the fact that Turlough must now make new care arrangements for Lorcan, who has Down Syndrome. A robust and dedicated farmer, Lorcan’s dream of continuing to work the land he grew up on is thwarted when Turlough decides he’s sending him to live with their Aunt on the other side of Ireland. But when the brothers discover an unfulfilled bucket list belonging to their late mother, Lorcan senses an opportunity: he’ll only agree to leave the farm once he and Turlough have themselves completed every single wish on their mother’s list…all one-hundred of them. |
