The LA Sessions – October 25th, 2025 – Celebrating Irish Music in LA!

On Saturday, October 25th, 2025, we held The LA Sessions — a free to attend celebration of contemporary Irish and local music inspired by Samhain, the ancient Irish festival that gave birth to Halloween. Experience the best of Irish culture and creativity across Los Angeles County at venues including The Ordinarie (Downtown Long Beach), The Auld Fella (Culver City), The Liberties of Dublin (Mid-City LA) and The Irish Times (Palms). Together, these venues will host unforgettable performances that bring the spirit of Ireland to LA through music, culture, and community.

The LA Sessions, presented by CIACLA, celebrates the richness of Irish culture and the creativity of today’s Irish musicians, bringing the sounds of a modern Ireland into some of LA’s favorite gathering spots. By showcasing Irish and Irish-American artists in venues across the county, The LA Sessions creates a shared cultural moment that connects communities through music, heritage, and celebration.

This October edition celebrates Samhain, the ancient Irish festival that gave birth to Halloween. Originating in Ireland over 2,000 years ago, Samhain marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter  a time for gathering, storytelling, and honoring our shared cultural roots.

MUSICIANS

Bren Holmes | Instagram | Photography Website

Dublin-born, LA-based musician, songwriter, and photographer. For over 30 years, Bren has honed his craft as an original member of the beloved Young Dubliners, touring the world and sharing his unique blend of rock, folk, and Irish soul. In 2019, he stepped out on his own to record his debut solo album, Everything You Never Wanted: a heartfelt mix of Americana, timeless rock ’n’ roll, and Irish spirit. Produced with Bryan Dobbs, the album features an incredible lineup of LA’s top musicians, from Brett Anderson (The Donnas) to Cindy Wasserman (Dead Rock West) and more. It’s a warm, honest record about love, loss, and life on the road — music that feels like a letter from an old friend. Beyond music, Bren is also an accomplished photographer, exhibiting work in both Los Angeles and Dublin. His photos, like his songs, capture raw emotion and unfiltered truth.
